OPEN-SOURCE SOFTWARE
Open-source software used by Forma
Forma itself is proprietary, not open-source software. It is built with third-party software and assets whose own licenses govern those components and preserve the rights those licenses give you.
Complete notices in the desktop application
Each desktop release includes its version-specific Third-Party Notices, the Electron license, Chromium’s complete third-party notices, and the license texts for Forma’s packaged models, icons, and font. These files are installed with the application resources. In Forma, choose Settings → Support → Third-party licenses to return to this explanation.
This page is a readable overview. The complete license texts and attributions included with your installed version control where this summary is less detailed.
Desktop runtime
Forma currently uses Electron 43.2.0 under the MIT License. Electron packages Chromium and its third-party components. Forma retains Electron’s license and Chromium’s generated notices with every supported desktop artifact.
Electron’s media runtime may include FFmpeg libraries licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), depending on the platform and build. Forma keeps the applicable notices with the application and does not claim ownership of those components.
On-device perception and interface assets
- MediaPipe Tasks Vision 0.10.35 and the packaged Pose Landmarker and Face Landmarker task bundles — Apache License 2.0.
- Lucide static icons 1.25.0, including work derived from Feather Icons — ISC and MIT Licenses.
- Inter variable font 4.1 — SIL Open Font License 1.1.
These components run or render locally. Their notices are included in the application resources.
Website software
The public Forma website uses GSAP 3.13.0 under the GSAP Standard License. Its source license header is retained in the website asset.
The private browser check-in also uses self-hosted MediaPipe Tasks Vision 0.10.35 and the Pose Landmarker task bundle under the Apache License 2.0. The model and runtime execute in the browser and are not loaded from a third-party CDN.
